I have some correspondence from residents asking about when the work will start on the Culvert under Westlea Drive that carries the Whitehill Stream. The work is still due to be completed by the end of April. I will post updates as I have them.
Today was an occasion that was one of sadness and yet also happiness as members of the Toothill Community Cafe invited me along to the dedication of a Bench to the memory of Phil Butt who was a volunteer at the Toothill and Freshbrook Community Cafe. He was a big chap with a big heart and a wicked sense of humour, the bench was also to remember Anthony Alderson Scott 1929-2009. His family and friends and the customers and staff of the Toothill Cafe raised the money to buy the bench and Fix it in Toothill Junior School. I would like to thank everyone and all the families and friends involved in this act of thoughtfulness.

Attended a meeting to review the progress of the awards for 2010. Nominations are open until 26 Feb 2010

Tonights Scrutiny was very interesting. The council is negotiating with the union re the allowances issues that have been raised. The Deputy Leader Fin Foley, was very open and stated that they are negotiating with the union. The Waste strategy re the Bioreactors was adopted so that will move to the next stage.
All in all the normal scrutiny meeting.
